Feeling great that I am writing blog about my learning and experience from ONGC’s interview. We interviewed Mr P.S Chauhan, General Manager (Head of URAN terminal) and Mr. S.P. Singh General Manager (Head of chemistry Lab, RGL – Panvel) for our eBusiness Project.
ONGC (Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.) is Asia’s second largest oil and gas exploration company, which has its existence in several countries. ONGC produces around 77% of India’s total crude oil production and around 81% of natural gas production. It spends 4% of its profit of Mumbai region on CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) activities.
ONGC has implemented SAP (Systems, Applications, and Products) for smooth functioning of production, operation process and supply chain management. Also it gives significance attention to personnel management like it incurred lots of expense on training and development, implementation of online Performance Appraisal System (e-PAR). Mr Chauhan explained us that how SAP system has improved the efficiency of the employees.
Though ONGC is a PSU but its operations and management are not like other government companies. Its employees have adopted new changing technology. It does not use social media in its business because it has its own internal knowledge management system where news and other information are circulated and shared among all employees.
Also ONGC follows a sound business policy with respect to keeping environment clean. It has a dedicated carbon management group that monitors and controls emission levels prescribed by pollution control board.
Finally I would like say thanks to Mr Chauhan and Mr Singh for giving their valuable times on Sunday afternoon.
